Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) admission process is divided into three categories: merit, catchment areas, and educationally less developed states (ELDS).

The merit category accounts for 45% of the admission, while 35% is reserved for candidates from the catchment area and 20% for those from educationally less developed states.

However, it is important to note that a candidate from another state outside the catchment area who meets the merit cut-off mark for their chosen course will be admitted, regardless of the catchment policy.

On the other hand, if a candidate is from any of the catchment states but fails to meet the catchment cut-off mark, they will not be admitted into the Ahmadu Bello University.
