The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has staged a protest at Ekiti State University, EKSU against the recent hike in tuition fees.
Students from various parts of the country have reportedly turned the university into their second home on weekends, demanding a reversal of the fee increase.
The NANS task force on school fees increment, along with student leaders, met with the EKSU management and Governor Biodun Oyebanji to discuss the issue.
The committee had earlier issued a statement condemning the significant rise in fees, with medical students facing charges of up to N750,000, while the lowest fee was fixed at N200,000.
The students have given the institution 48 hours to reconsider the decision or face further protests.
